Enhancing Predictive Analytics in the Enterprise Through Location Intelligence

This is a little blue sky, but given good data one could imagine doing predictive analysis of locating a new school (or redistricing). Given good value-added models for classrooms and students it would be possible to play out scenarios that model school performance.

Chris,
"Given good value-added models for classrooms and students it would be possible to play out scenarios that model school performance." -- Now you're talking! Detailed conceptual AND statistical models that capture input, throughput, and output, contextualized to local conditions of teaching and learning should finally provide some real value. Multivariate longitudinal (meaning multiple data points per year) growth modelling, MCMC procedures, Bayesian algorithms--hey, we're starting to bring the various capacities together. Only a couple of things still required: 1. teachers and school leaders willing and able to specify the core instructional processes they think important and measures for those processes, 2. analysts able to model those data (plus assessment or other output data and relevant (issue) input characteristics), 3. data bases that capture and store the relevant data painlessly (direct-from-life would be best), 4. collaborative interpretation of results, feedback, adjustment, etc. within schools.
